FAQ

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO CHERRY HILL ORCHARD & MARKET BEFORE, IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BRING?

We are so pleased to welcome you to our orchard. We have everything you will need here. When you arrive at our orchard there will be someone ready to greet you, hand you a bucket or a box to pick your fruit in and then they will direct you to where the best picking is for that particular day. We have a few sturdy ladders for you to use, if needed. Then, when you are done picking, boxes are provided for you to take your fruit home in.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

We take cash, check, credit and debit card.

CAN WE TAKE OUR OWN BOXES WITH US?

Yes! We have several customers who bring their same boxes throughout the u-pick season. We give a small discount when you do this.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO AT YOUR ORCHARD?

Spending time at our orchard is relaxing and fun for the whole family! We have a farmyard where you can visit Mavis, our miniature donkey, Harvey, our miniature goat, plus chickens and ducks. Our vintage, antique market is full of treasures from over 20 + vendors who have contributed their best antique finds and quality handcrafted items. There is something for everyone! Then take a seat on our old playground swing-set. It’s popular with everyone from children to grandparents. Bring a picnic lunch and play some of our lawn games.

CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?

No, I am sorry!  We love all furry companions. However, for security and health reasons only leashed or harnessed service animals who remain on the floor at all times are allowed. A service animal is a dog that is trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Sorry, pets and comfort animals are not permitted. Thank you for your cooperation!

WHAT DO YOU SPRAY ON YOUR TREES?

We live in the middle of our orchard – this is our home. Our children, friends and family eat the fruit from our orchard, so it is very important to us how we spray and care for our fruit. We believe in environmentally friendly practices to sustain our orchard and our lives. When you come up to the orchard to pick your fruit, just ask us. We will show you a bucket with the list of ingredients that are in the spray for our trees.

HOW DO I PICK THE CHERRIES AT THE TOP OF THE TREE?

We prune our trees low for easy picking, but we have placed several sturdy ladders around the orchard for exactly this reason. It may be tempting to climb the tree, but that damages the limbs and is risky for the next year’s crop. Plus our customers safety is very important to us. For that reason, we ask you not to climb the trees, but use the ladders instead.
