INSTRUCTORS

MAGGIE SMITH

The desire to grow plants of all types began as a yound girl on a Jersey dairy farm in northern Idaho.  My grandfather had been crippled while plowing with a team of horses, so while dad took over the farming operations, Grandpa took over the garden. I trailed after him as he planted and nurtured an abundance of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. His work ethic and passion for growing inspires me even today as I venture into growing cutting flowers.  But Lavendar will always be my first love!

I’m looking forward to sharing all the wonderful ways in which you can use lavendar in what we eat and drink!

Following her time in the US Navy, she spent years in the hospitality and restaurant industries honing her skills and developing an even deeper love of feeding people beautiful food. You can find her recipes in Edible Inland Northwest magazine, or join a class to get the hands on experience!
