Teen & Kid Closet

 

Each summer we are blessed to get to know and appreciate a nonprofit in the Inland northwest. In 2018 we are focusing on Teen & Kid Closet (TKC). Robyn Nance from KXLY 4 News helped found TKC in 2007, beginning with a simple idea to provide good, quality, fashionable clothing to foster kids in need, for free. It’s a simple idea that leaves a big impact—DIGNITY.

TKC is now located at 307 E Sprague, Spokane WA 99202, serving children in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Community volunteers lovingly stock and fashionably arrange the boutique-style shop where foster children can experience shopping for their own clothes.

Most of the youth they serve have no other access to nice clothes, many times carrying only a few possessions around with them as they move from home to home. When foster kids are given a choice of quality, fashionable clothes, they are given a chance to fit in and feel cared for.  

 

 

 

 

 

You can help us support Teen & Kid Closet when you come to our orchard this summer to pick cherries, raspberries and peaches. We have a donation jar by the register, and on Saturday, July 21st we are celebrating our second annual Blessing on the Bluff.

This whole day we are going to focus on Teen & Kid Closet and have fun. If you bring a new pair of flip flops to donate to TKC we will give you a pound of cherries for free. Family Pitmasters will be at our orchard for you to purchase the best pulled pork sandwich. We will have music, cherry and raspberry picking, treasures to find in our gift market, face painting, cherry pit spit, farm animals to visit, yard games and a relaxing day in the country.
